UPDATE - Upcoming Professional Development/Curriculum Planning Days

In order to best support teachers and their ability to plan meaningful curriculum and online learning for students, the district has decided that Wednesdays in April will be a day for staff to engage in professional development.  Teachers WILL provide a few independent activities for students, but will otherwise be limited in communication with students and families.  We appreciate your understanding and support.

Teachers will use April 1st, April 8th, April 15th, and April 22nd to continue their planning of meaningful curriculum and online learning.

What will Wednesdays look like for students, families, and teachers?

Students and families: Students at the elementary level will be asked to maintain an academic mindset on these days, but teachers will be asking them to work as independently (and off screen) as possible.  Examples of this may include: independent reading, independent projects related to reading, writing, or math.  In addition, students should complete their special for the day, which tend to be independent and off screen.  Some families may choose to use this time to catch up on missed work due to sickness or other circumstances.

Teachers: Teachers at the elementary level will spend the day planning in PLCs to continue to provide meaningful curriculum and online learning for students.  Additionally, teachers may use this time to meet with students on an as needed basis at their discretion.
