Fall Book Fair 2022

Fall Book Fair is coming to Bakie!  

The BookFair will take place from November 28th to December 2, 2022, at D.J. Bakie Elementary School Library with a late night on December 1, 2022 from 3:30 to 7:00, so parents can come to check out all the great books with the kids.   

Volunteers must complete a background check packet which can be found here.

Holiday Giving Tree

      

Our Holiday Giving Tree is now available online through SignUp Genius. 

Please review the list of gifts on our Holiday Giving Tree and click on the button to sign up.  Gifts should be returned to Bakie School unwrapped no later than Wednesday, December 14th

Temporary Bus Change

 

The Orange bus will not be running from 11/14/2022 through 1/3/2023.  We are going to follow the routes we set up in the past couple of weeks.

The changes are attached.  Please update Pick Up Patrol default plan if your stop is listed on the Trip Schedule.

2022-2023 Back to School Forms

Review the list of Back to School Required Forms and Information - this includes AlmaStart Forms, Free & Reduced Priced Meal Application, Family Handbook, Student Accident Insurance Plan, Zero Tolerance letter from the SAU, and the updated 2022-23 School Calendar.

All returning students need to complete our required "Back to School" forms by Tuesday, 9/6/22.

Forms will be completed in AlmaStart this year. Log into your Alma account and click on your initials in the upper right corner.

Click AlmaStart to access the forms and complete them online.

School Messenger

SchoolMessengerThe Sanborn Regional School District uses School Messenger to send out communications. This system allows parents to receive school and district information via automated phone calls, email, and/or text messages (a new feature that we didn't have with the older system).

If you would like to receive updates by text, you will need to opt-in to this service using the instructions below. These updates will include newsletters, special announcements, emergency/non-emergency announcements, and school closures/delays.

School Meals are No Longer Free

The USDA program providing free meals to all students has ended.

Please fill out a meal benefit application to continue to receive free meals.

Parent Welcome Letter for Cafe Services - click to read how to set up your child's lunch account and school lunch prices

Your child's "Student ID" is needed to set up their "MySchoolBucks" lunch account.  This can be found in your Alma portal by clicking on your icon on the upper right and then "My Info".

Important Bakie Traffic Pattern Update

Our school is adjusting its parent drop off/pick up routes for the 2022-2023 school year. With the Seminary property undergoing construction, we need to address the traffic flow in that area. We have worked with the police chief to design this route option. Click the link below for a detailed description of the new traffic flow including photographs.
