Dear boys and girls, parents and staff,

My name is Ms. Mulcahy.

 When I was a child:

When I was quite little, I made up stories by talking to the small furry or feathered animals I met on the roadside bank at the edge of my yard.
I have been  storytelling and reading books with boys and girls for a very long time!

Things I like to do:

Outdoors is a place I like to be. Almost any outdoor activity is on my favorite list:  hiking, biking, nature exploring (mountains, ocean, woods, lakes).
The game of pool is awesome! Dancing and gymnastics keep me energetic.

In grammar school, I loved to tell stories to my playmates and the little children in my neighborhood. I loved acting in plays.
When I became a Brownie and then a Girl Scout, I earned my two favorite Girl Scout badges: the Writing Badge and the Reading Badge. Often, when I was babysitting, I made up adventure or nature stories at bedtime for the kids.
And I like every season equally.
I keep a small flower garden every year.
Indoors, I keep my house filled with plants.

For two years on hot summer days, I would take my loose-leaf pad to the tree-shaded moss-covered rock at the top of the hill up in the woods behind my house. There I would lie on the cool moss to idle away the day writing down the newest chapter in my book. Soon, I needed to find a way to hold my many loose papers together!
But my constant love was writing poems.  I have written a few short stories, too.
I have always had a pet.  Now I have my cat Peter. He is a mix of Maine Coon and Manx.  Over the years, my black lab Lucky lived with me the longest--for fifteen years--, and we went everywhere together. He even was my sled dog when I wanted him to pull my daughter on her sled!  I have enjoyed my daughter's guinea pigs, too.

I never stop reading and writing. I read books every day, and write in my journal several times a week.
