Welcome, 

American Studies 1 is such an interesting and exciting subject!  It defines who we are as people today. We just happen to be lucky enough to reside in the best country in the world.   

I will introduce you to some of the greatest American writers in history, Hawthorne, Franklin, Emerson, Thoreau, Poe and Twain to name just a few.  The brilliance of their thoughts on paper will connect your minds to theirs, giving you experiences from early colonial times through the Civil War.

I am looking forward to sharing my excitement about American Literature with you.
