Professional Development Plan Statement of Purpose

The Sanborn Regional School District believes that quality teaching equals quality learning.  The district is committed to providing professional development experiences that meet the needs of all the members of the Sanborn Learning Community.

The master plan encompasses the guidelines for the programs currently in place to support professionals in the district. Whether a teacher is a protégé or an experienced teacher, the plan articulates expectations that encourage growth, collegiality, and the use of assessment data to drive instruction in the classroom.

It is the goal of the district to focus on improving student achievement and it is understood that this goal can only be achieved by providing quality professional development.  Quality professional development is defined as training based on current research, best practice, district initiatives, and a practice focused on building respect and collegiality among all members of the learning community.
