American Studies IIB - E. Clark & J. Wolbert
Block 2 - Room                                                           

This course covers American Literature and American History from Reconstruction to the present. Traditional writing and reading assignments will accompany the literature in relation to themes and time periods, including The Roaring Twenties, The Great Depression, The Harlem Renaissance, World War I & II, Vietnam, Civil Rights, and many other significant events in American History.  Although the concentration will be on American Literature, other genres may be studied as appropriate to the given themes.

Students will also work on writing and English skills necessary for post secondary success. These will include letter and resume writing, completing forms, vocabulary, mechanics, and usage skills.
