In Kindergarten we are busy every minute of the day!  We feel that there are some activities that can be done at home as an extension of what we are learning about in school.  However, we feel that homework should be used as more of a tool to teach responsibility in Kindergarten so we send home Take Home Folders on Friday and come back to school on Monday, in order to get students comfortable with taking things to and from school.

Every week students will take home a book to share with their families.  These books are books that the class has already read so students can simply share their book with families.

Be on the lookout in the Take Home Folder for the Everyday Math Homelink sheet.  A Homelink will go home every Friday and it has a new activity or game each week that correlates with the skills that we are working on in math.  These are fun things that you can do as a family at home, not something that needs to come back into school.  From past experience we know that students enjoy working on these with their families.

Sometimes there will be family assignments in the Take Home Folders.  These can range from collecting leaves for an upcoming project to writing down when your child's birthday is.  Again, these are things that are fun and are extensions of the projects and skills being taught in Kindergarten.

Feel free to contact your child's teacher if you have any questions about our policy.
