Communication

Organization is an important skill that needs to be taught and practiced.  Each child will have a homework folder.  Please help your child empty his/her backpack every night and go over papers in the folder. One side of the folder is for papers that need to be returned to school and the other side is for papers that need to be kept at home. Homework will increase as the year progresses. 

Initially, your child will come home exhausted!  Beginning of the year homework consists of unpacking the backpack and returning the folder with right back to school papers the next day!  It will take us a while to get used to this, but eventually this system will help to organize everyone!  As the year progresses, children will have math and reading homework nightly.  If you feel your child would like enrichment or extra help, please refer to Our Favorite Websites link.

Feel free to contact me at 642-5272 with any concerns or questions throughout the year.  Please do not leave a message if it concerns dismissal or issues that need my attention right away, since I do not listen to messages until the end of the day. Please do not use email for communication since our server may be down at times for various reasons.  For security purposes, I will not use email to update you with confidential reports on your child.  I prefer to use the phone or notes.

Buses-

Please send a note in the morning if your child will be taking a different bus home, is picked up or staying at school for a program.  If I don't receive a note, your child must go home on their regular bus.  If you forget, please drop the note off in the office during the day.
