band concert-5 4th grade-spring concert

The Bakie and Memorial 4th and 5th grade bands performed for a large audience at Sanborn Regional High School last Thursday evening. The combined Spring Concert featured multiple selections by both sections. The elementary bands are led by Nicole Bartlett, Matt Bradd, Nancy Fiske, and Sarah Kaufman. Well-done, musicians!

The Memorial School staff and students were very pleased to be able to recognize over fifty volunteers at our annual Volunteer Tea.  Memorial School parents and community members once again surpassed 5,500 volunteer hours over the course of the school year!  Our guests were treated to songs and performances by each grade level during this recognition.  Thank you, Volunteers!

 A Message from the Principal:

In an effort to continue to find additional ways to communicate information to everyone, I would like to share a blog site with you that I have recently created. Please visit: jonvanderels.wordpress.com to read a bit more about my perspective on various educational topics.  My first post is in relation to the ongoing work our Memorial staff is doing in their Professional Learning Communities. Memorial School’s recognition in the fall as an exemplar PLC in the nation was the impetus for this post, as I wanted to provide an overview of some of what this work entailed (and continues to entail) for our entire staff.  I will let everyone know when our blog is updated through our newsletter, Facebook, and our web-site (www.sau17.org) Thank you for visiting my blog, and please let me know if you have any questions.
