Since July, 2007, Debora Bamforth has served as the principal of the D.J. Bakie School. Mrs. Bamforth has her Bachelors in Science Degree from Salem State
College in elementary education, a Master’s in Educational Administration from Rivier College and other graduate credits from multiple higher education institutions. She is certified by the New Hampshire Department of Education as a principal and as an elementary teacher. She worked as a classroom teacher, teacher of the gifted and talented, and as a team coordinator in the Derry, New Hampshire school district from 1977 through 2001. From 2001 - 2007, Ms. Bamforth worked at the Timberlane Regional Middle School in Plaistow, New Hampshire, first as an Enrichment Coordinator and then as a Curriculum Coordinator. Mrs. Bamforth is certified as a trainer/consultant in the Write Traits model of student writing. She is a collaborative leader with a proven record of school leadership and demonstrated compassion for students. Since coming to Bakie School, Mrs. Bamforth has worked with staff to develop a common vision, to communicate clear expectations, and work toward common goals to improve student achievement. She is known as a thoughtful leader with a strong sense of integrity and describes herself as a lifelong learner. Mrs. Bamforth is delighted to be a part of the Bakie learning community.
