The Kingston-Bakie PTA gives you an opportunity to invest in your child’s future.  As a member, you can advocate for better conditions for children and families, participate in promoting quality education and promote a true partnership between home and school.

Not sure where you may fit in?  Any and all volunteering is welcome and necessary.  Whether you are available 15 minutes a month or 20 hours a week, all efforts are truly appreciated and can be used!  Click here for Volunteer Opportunities. Volunteers Needed

As always volunteer opportunities exist all the time in and out of the classroom and school.  From the library and computer lab to the copy room and at home if you have time and would like to help please contact Julie Blomberg at jtblomberg@comcast.net.

 The T.V. turnoff committee will forming in March to plan a series of events in April to give students an alternative to watching T.V. or playing electronic games.  Anyone who can help should contact Stephanie Paul.

Upcoming Events

Tuesday March 9th is voting day.  Kingston residents vote 8:00am to 8:00pm at the Swasey Gymnasium.  Get informed, bring a neighbor and vote.

Next Meeting

The next monthly PTA will take place on Wednesday March 10, 2010 at 7pm in the Bakie Gymnasium.  There will also be a meeting of the T.V. turnoff committee details will be announced soon.

BAKIE PTA PAPER Collection     

Important Notice

9-21-09

The Green and Yellow Collection Bin will be moved to the Kingston VFW located across from Rick's Pond View on Route 125.  The veterans have been nice enough to allow us to place it on their property all we ask is that if using the bin please respect the property and any request the veterans may make concerning the use of the dumpster.  The public is more than welcomed to use it.  Please pay attention to what is and is not allowed the bin.  Do not leave any items that are not allowed in the bin, on or around the bin.  Information about what is and is not allowed in the bin is located on the front and sides of the bin as well as on our very own recycling website. www.bakiepaperdrive.org

We will continue to accept used ink cartridges, cell phones, iPods, laptops.  Just drop them off in the collection box in the main office at Bakie.

 

The Bakie PTA or the C.H.A.M.P.S. organization will at some time this school year will hold an electronic recycling collection event. Details will be published here and in the local papers once a date has been set.

Hannaford's Helps schools

It all adds up!  Purchase participation products in the Hannaford Helps Schools program and you'll earn dollars that your school can use to purchase items or run programs that enhance you children's education. 

There is no limit to the school dollars you can earn. -Purchase 4 participating products, earn 3 school dollars

-Purchase 8 products earn 6 school dollars

-Purchase 12 products, earn 9 school dollars.

Deposit school dollars into the collection towers at your local Hannaford supermarket.

Every store will award an additional $1000.00 grant to the store that raises the most money.

Clip Box Tops from many popular food products, including Cheerios, El Paso Taco Kits, Trix Yogurt, and many more.  Each Box Top is redeemed for cash.  Just send them into school care of the PTA.  For other ways to earn box tops or for recipes and activities visit www.boxtops4education.com.

Cartridges for Kids

Please send in your used printer cartridges, toners and cell phone .  All are recycled for cash.  There is a collection box in the teacher's copy room.

If you eat Tyson products, you can help Bakie earn money!!

Clip & Save Tyson Product A+ labels from participating Tyson products. Send in the labels with your child to school.

Look for Tyson products with the "Project A+" logo on the front of the package, each label is worth 24 cents!
